Berkshire Cricket League round-up: Earley declare early in storming victory

Shinfield are the new league leaders of the division despite only managing a losing draw, it was enough to take them above Berkshire County Sports were thrashed by nine wickets against Ibis Mapledurham. 

Berkshire County Sports were on the end of a shock defeat as second bottom placed Ibis Mapledurham performed superbly. They bowled Berkshire all out for a modest total of 130 after 40.5 overs, and dropped just one wicket on their way to recording a comfortable victory. 

Crowthorne & Crown Wood remain in fourth place despite suffering a three wicket defeat to Mortimer West End. 

Nick Kingston took a tremendous hat-trick as the Crows were bowled all out for a first innings total of 135. Mortimer batted their way to victory after 42.1 overs having conceded seven wickets.

Waltham managed a decent first innings total of 212-8 from their 45 overs. But a superb batting display from Farley Hill saw them cruise to the target as Michael Sheridan knocked a brilliant innings of 112 not out. 

Peppard Stoke Row pipped Woodley 2s to victory by one run in an exceptionally tight match.

Fifth placed Shinfield 2s were triumphed by four wickets by West Reading 2s. Shinfield posted just 118 before they were bowled all out, while it took West Reading just 25 overs to seal victory. 

Division 2

Second placed Earley stormed to a 162-run win against Peppard Stoke Row 3s. Robert Casey (98) and Vinod Aduri (95) both displayed amazing batting performances leading Earley to declare after 36 overs on 241-3. 

They then dismissed Peppard Stoke Row all out for just 79 to wrap up an easy victory, with Steven Mapes taking 5-24. 

Wokingham 6s were defeated by three wickets by Welford Park 2s to remain in eighth place. The Oaks posted a good score of 213 as Chinmay Kulkarni top scored with 73 runs. 

But Welford Park surpassed the target after 42.4 overs with three wickets left.

Division 3

Third placed Earley 2s ran out as comfortable winners with a seven wicket win against Purley on Thames 3s in a low scoring encounter. 

Earley skittled their opponents all out for 96 before taking just 23 overs to secure victory. 

Shinfield 3s gained their seventh win of the season with a three wicket triumph over Stratfield Turgis/Hartley Wespall 2s. Stratfield posted a first innings total of 243 from 45 overs, but Shinfield managed to reach the challenging total after 42.4 overs with three wickets to spare.

Binfield 4s were beaten by Sandhurt 2s in a low scoring match. Binfield were removed all out for just 82, a target that took Sandhurst just 13.5 overs to surpass. 

 Meanwhile, Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3s were beaten by seven wickets against Mortimer.
