WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook booked their place in the next round of the county cup as they put four goals past a young Bracknell Town side.

Bracknell made a first start to the contest and went close to opening the scoring but were thwarted by a determined defensive effort from the Sumas before goalkeeper Woodward saw a long ranged effort bounce off his post before he reacted well to tip another long shot over his crossbar.

But the visitors began to find their feet and broke the deadlock after a neat passage of play was finished off by Edwards who ran onto Rushforth’s lay off and dispatched a curling effort over the goalkeeper to find the back of the net.

After being frustrated by the opposition goalkeeper on a couple of occasions, the Sumas eventually doubled their advantage as Rushforth rebounded in after the hosts keeper unable to make a third consecutive stop to save his side.

Woodward made another important save in between the sticks to maintain Wokingham’s clean sheet to take them into half time with a 2-0 lead.

The away side added a third goal in the second half to take the tie away from Bracknell’s reach after a quick one, two from Atkinson allowed him to venture into the box before he was fouled and won his side a penalty. White calmly stroked the ball into the bottom corner to make it 3-0.

The Sumas then rounded off a good evening’s work with a fourth as Will Good curled in a superb strike from 30 yards out to beat the keeper and seal Wokingham & Emmbrook’s place in the next round of the cup.
