Reading FC have confirmed which players will remain with the club following the end of the 2025/26 League One season.
The Royals announced that nine players from Peter Scott’s Under-21 squad have had one-year contract options activated, keeping them at the Select Car Leasing Stadium for another season.
Those players are Carter Bowdery, Phil Duah, Sam Harrison, David Hicks, Luke Howard, Abraham Kanu, Harrison Rhone, John Ryan and Shay Spencer.
The club also confirmed it is in discussions with six players over new deals.
Boyd Beacroft, Tom Norcott, Emmanuel Osho, Matt Rowley, Tyler Sackey and Joe Barough are all currently in talks regarding contract extensions.
Meanwhile, six players will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer.
Jacob Borgnis, John Clarke, Miles Obodo, Jeremiah Okine-Peters, Basil Tuma and Jay Williams have all been released.
In a statement, Reading thanked the departing players for their “commitment during their time with us”.
The retained list follows the conclusion of the League One campaign earlier this week as the club continue preparations for next season.
