Reading FC Women’s manager Kelly Chambers is ‘excited’ ahead of a crunch Women’s Super League encounter with Leicester City.
The Royals and the Foxes both sit both sit at the bottom of the WSL table without a point to their names.
Reading have lost all four of their league fixtures, while Leicester have been defeated in all five of their games.
“I’m really excited for the game. There’s no hiding that it’s a massive game for both clubs so we’ve left no stone unturned this week to make sure we are fully prepared,” said Chambers.
“We haven’t had many games at home and the performances we have put up at home have been really, really good. It’s about building on that.
“This week is a new week and we’ve stayed positive. We want to be organised and are now fully prepared for Sunday.”
Chambers admitted that her squad have had difficulties at the start of this campaign, but is determined to fix their form and start picking up results.
She continued: “The group were a bit down on Tuesday when they came in but we’ve switched the focus and we’re trying to look at the positives.
“We’re actually in a better place than we were last season which sounds bonkers. We’ve worked hard in terms of structure and I feel like the girls are mentally ready for it.
“We have to find consistency which is hard when you’re not picking up results.
“The start of the season we’ve been hit hard with injuries with Deanne Rose and Emma Harries isn’t back fully fit yet.
“They’ve taken a hit on us but I wanted a squid with depth this year and I feel that I’ve got that.
“We’re both (Reading and Leicester) in the same boat at the minute. We are focusing on us and I don’t need to tell the girls the pressure on the game.
“They are old enough, wise enough and experienced enough to know that.
“What I’ve made clear to them is that we need to go in with our game plan, deliver our game plan and hopefully that will give us a result.”
