Wokingham borough council has issued an important reminder to residents ahead of the upcoming bank holiday, and missing it could mean your bins are left uncollected.
Despite the bank holiday on Monday, May 25, bin collections across the borough will still go ahead as normal. However, crews will be starting much earlier than usual, with collections beginning from 5.30am.
Residents are now being urged to put their bins out the night before to avoid being caught out by the earlier start time.
The council warned that anyone who usually puts their bins out first thing in the morning should make sure they are outside no later than 5.30am.
A spokesperson said the temporary change is designed to help crews complete their rounds efficiently during the bank holiday period.
Households unsure about their scheduled collection day can check online using the council’s dedicated bin collection service.
