BBC Radio Berkshire is to move into Wokingham. And its new studios – based at Thames Valley Park in Earley – will be visible from its old base in Caversham Park.
The move will take place later this year, with new studios built on the site, which is also home to the UK headquarters of Microsoft and Oracle.
Duncan McLarty, editor of BBC Radio Berkshire, said: “We are looking forward to our move to Thames Valley Park.
“Our new studios have all the latest broadcast, newsgathering and editing equipment that will enable our fantastic line-up of presenters, including Sarah Walker and Bill Buckley, to carry on with their mix of conversation, local news and updates and music that listeners across Berkshire love.
“We’ll be moving later this year and will be wishing Caversham Park well as it moves to the next phase of its history.”
Other popular presenters on BBC Radio Berkshire include Phil Kennedy, Debbie McGee and Tony Blackburn.
Last year, the BBC announced it was selling Caversham Park – which is also home to BBC Monitoring and the BBC Written Archive – to cut costs.
BBC Monitoring will move to London, while the written archives will remain at Caversham Park.
