Eversley & California suffered their third consecutive defeat of the season as they were beaten 3-0 by Kensington & Ealing Borough to remain pointless in the division.
Eversley were forced into making changes due to the non-availability of their dual-registered players who all featured in Binfield’s Friday night cup win.
Plus the injury to the influential Cameron Blackie saw changes in the Eversley line up, In goal Liam Vaughan, Connor Allston, Connor Allison, Gabra Wedling, James Allison and Kia Frances.
Eversley started brightly as they had in the previous two games. Enjoying the great surface passing the ball well. With 15 minutes gone, both sides were cancelling each other out with few clear cut chances.
With nearly 30 minutes on the clock, Kensington took the lead with a fine move down the right side. Walid Hirsi cut in and beat the advancing Vaughan to open the scoring.
Jabir Laraba, made it two, following an unfortunate slip by right back Robson. The lively forward sprinted in on goal and slid his effort into the bottom corner to double the hosts’ advantage.
Eversley responded well, forcing several free kicks in and around the Kensington box.
From one of them, Ross McKernan’s cross found Connor Allston, whose powerful header rattled the bar with the home keeper clutching at air.
Just before the break the outstanding Ali Dickie broke clear of the Kensington defence and was impeded cynically by the home centre back 20 yards out, when he would have been through on goal, but the referee took no action. Ross McKernan’s effort didn’t trouble the goal as Eversley went into the break two goals down.
Eversley were forced into making a change as off went Charlie Scope with a foot injury and was replaced by Jack Kittlesen at half-time.
Kensington, resumed the half on the front foot and continued moving the ball well. Eversley forced a succession of corners after good work down both flanks, but were punished after 55 minutes as Kensington added a third goal.
Kensington broke well wide down the left wing, and a smart chip found the burly number nine, Craig Tomkins, who coolly finished to put the result beyond doubt.
James Allison made way for Calum Collins as Eversley threw caution to the wind to try and find an unlikely route back into the contest. Allston again went close with another header from a Robson corner.
But Kensington held on to see out the rest of the game to condemn Eversley to three straight defeats to leave them in 17th position in the table after a disappointing start to the season.
