A READING charity is encouraging people to get outside to boost their wellbeing.
Thrive is asking residents to get involved with gardening and nature projects this autumn to brighten up the colder days.
The charity teaches people with disabilities, ill health or those who are vulnerable how gardening can bring positive changes to their lives.
It has now launched an autumn calendar full of activities designed to improve wellbeing.
It includes planting tulips, building a bug hotel and autumn flower arranging.
Damien Newman, from Thrive, said: “Combined with uncertainties about Covid, this time of year can be a period when some people feel greater stress and anxiety.
“Engaging in gardening and connecting with nature has proven benefits for health as many people will now testify after their experiences during lockdowns.
“Autumn still offers plenty of opportunities to experience these therapeutic benefits and to boost wellbeing.”
