Wokingham Borough Council has published details of its plans to introduce new 30mph speed limits on roads across the borough.
The authority has published an order that, when approved, will see the limit implemented on Reading Road in Winnersh and Wokingham, London Road, Hollow Lane inShinfield), the A327 Arborfield Road in Shinfield), Bearwood Road in Barkham, the A327 Reading Road in Finchampstead, New Mill Lane, in Finchampstead, and Park Lane in Finchampstead.
The order noted: “These proposed speed limit changes have resulted from recent speed limit reviews of classified roads in the area, and they have been proposed to help improve driver compliance of speeds in the affected roads.
“The proposed restrictions are therefore considered by the council to be necessary and expedient to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using these roads or prevent the likelihood of such danger arising, and to facilitate the passage of traffic.
“The proposed measures have been subject to consultations with local councillors representing the area, and the Police.” .
Any representations or objections to the proposals with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing to Traffic Management, Parking and Road Safety, Wokingham Borough Council, Shute End, Wokingham, Berkshire RG40 1WN, quoting Various speed limits, Arborfield.
