A transport service operating in Wokingham is a role model for other areas of the country, according to the UK’s transport watchdog.
Reading Buses- the major travel line for the country of Berkshire- was praised for its service following a visit from Transport Focus earlier this year.
The London based organisation- which uses evidence-based research to achieve the best deals for passengers and road users- reported that the system running in Reading was highly successful.
Chief Executive Office for Reading Buses, Robert Williams said: “We had a great discussion that highlighted our really detailed local focus.
“This is something we are keen to retain in our recently acquired Newbury & District and Courtney Buses, rather than running them as part of Reading Buses.”
Reading Buses also shared how they integrated the findings of Transport Focus’ annual independent Bus Passenger Survey into their activities.
Mr Williams added: “This ranges from being honest about the survey results with our staff, to deciding what to cover in our latest driver training courses.”
“Their interest in what we do at Reading Buses and the effort we put into improving customer experience, was great.”
