READING FC had a total of seven players in action over the international break which included a hat-trick for Dom Ballard for England U19s and a red card for Nelson Abbey for England U20s.

Ballard was kept busy over the international period and featured in all three of England’s games in the Marbella Cup.

He claimed an assist in England’s 6-0 success over Romania before his substitute appearance helped the team to a stoppage time winner over Japan.

The Southampton loanee ended the international period in style by smashing in a hat-trick against Mexico as England ran out as 6-0 victors.

Abbey, who has impressed for Reading despite the team’s miserable form, was sent off in England’s win over Germany.

England twice came from behind to snatch a stoppage time success over Germany, however Abbey was dismissed after the referee had deemed that he committed a foul on an attacker as the last man.

Tyler Bindon was used twice as a late substitute for New Zealand. He came on in their defeat to Greece before he was used as a stoppage time sub in the 1-1 away draw against the Republic of Ireland.

Defender Jeriel Doresett played two full 90 minute matches for Montserrat. They picked up wins against Dominican Republic and Barbados.
