Reading FC manager Leam Richardson has made an admission about his team following a run of successive defeats in League One.
The result leaves the Royals hovering just above the relegation zone, only above the bottom four on goal difference.
Richardson has had mixed results since replacing Noel Hunt as Reading manager in October.
Following a 2-0 defeat at Bradford on Saturday, Richardson was asked what he has learned in the six games he’s managed at Reading that he didn’t know before he joined the club.
He admitted to Royals TV: “Honestly, nothing. That’s not being flippant, I’ve been doing it a long time and have a lot of experience around the league.
“I don’t think Joel (Pereira) had to make a save yet we’re still on the end of a 2-0 loss.
“We have to have a team that’s consistent in its performance. I’ve spoken about fitness levels that we have to sustain.
“We’ve been together for a short period. They’ve been together with Graham and recruiting for two years and have a style of play. They’ve had continuity and sustainability, our club has had the opposite. You can see the difference. You’ve got to get there and we will get there.”
Reading are back in League One action and hope to break their losing streak when they host Jack WIlshere’s Luton Town side at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Thursday night.
Richardson continued: “We’re going through transition and our results will tell you the same.
“We are still getting to know each other and the demands of each other.
“The next three or four (transfer) windows are everything for the club. We’ve got some really good young players here and some really good people here. But you can’t get away from the fact we are a club in transition in all departments.”
