The final homes at a new neighbourhood which has been taking shape on the edge of Shinfield are due to be completed this year.
Vistry Group is building 672 new homes at Shinfield Meadows under its Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands, with all but 35 of these properties now completed.
As well as delivering 562 homes for private sale, the developments have provided affordable housing for local people, with 110 properties allocated for low-cost rent or shared ownership through the planning agreement with the local authority.
Work is currently underway on the final plots, and with construction due for completion by December, there are just three properties yet to be sold.
Amber Bowley, regional sales director for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “We have delivered hundreds of homes for the local area at Shinfield Meadows since work started here back in 2017.
“The properties we have built are part of a wider new community of approximately 1,000 homes to the west of Shinfield which is now a well-established and thriving neighbourhood. Allotments opened in 2019, followed by a new primary school in 2020, while a supermarket is due to open soon.
“There’s also extensive green open space on the doorstep, and we have planted new trees and plants across the development as well as providing ecological measures, such as gaps in fences for hedgehogs to roam freely and installing bat and bird boxes.
“We are on track to finish on site by the end of this year, and are looking forward to welcoming residents into the final homes as they are completed.”
