Performing on Saturday are a selection of blues, country, and tribute bands including headliner Totally Blondie.
The 70s replica group – which formed only last year – comprises lead vocalist Aurora Colson, guitarist Spike Stockdale, drummer Dave McGrath, keyboardist Chris Skornia, and bass guitarist Phil Baker.
Ahead of the band’s appearance at next week’s festival, Bracknell-based Skornia said: “As we’re a new band, this will be our first appearance at Wokingham Festival.
“We’ll be playing all of Blondie’s hits such as classics Hanging On The Telephone, Call Me, Sunday Girl, Rapture, and many more.
“Blondie’s music has huge variety and covers styles from punk and funk, to reggae and pure pop, so there really is something for everyone.”
Speaking from experience as a musician who has toured globally and appeared on Top of The Pops, he added: “I’ve done hundreds of gigs in my life, but festivals like this will always be my favourite.
“The atmosphere of such events can’t be matched by an indoor gig.”
The performer joined the group after seeing an advert by guitarist Spike, followed soon after by lead singer Aurora.
Skornia said: “Aurora was the icing on the cake for the band. We couldn’t have asked for a better Debbie Harry replica, looks and voice wise.”
He added: “The name of the band represents us as the total Blondie package.
“Our ultimate aim is to become the best Blondie tribute in the UK, and with the energy and passion that we have for the music, our goal shouldn’t be too far out of reach.”
And Skornia’s connection with the music has unique ties with the original band itself.
The performer said: “I’ve supported the real Blondie on tours of the UK, Europe and at Cornbury Festival.
“Performing with them gave me a real insight into what really makes the band tick. This is something that sticks by me during gigs with Totally Blondie.”
The tribute band will perform from 9.30pm on the Saturday of Wokingham Festival.
The group will also be performing for Wokingham Music Club later this year at Emmbrook Sports and Social Club for those who miss next weekend’s performance or are keen to hear more.
