A WOKINGHAM charity that provides clothing and essentials for people at a time of crisis has received a very generous donation that will help it to support many families and individuals in the borough.
Morrisons Foundation has awarded The Cowshed a cash boost of £10,000.
Sally Russell, CEO of The Cowshed said: “We’re incredibly grateful for this support from Morrisons Foundation.
“The are enabling us to provide 200 Winter Warmth packs for people in crisis across Berkshire, offering warmth, comfort and dignity during the coldest months.”
The money, donated by the charitable arm of the UK supermarket, will pay for new duvets, pillows, blankets, hot water bottles, warm clothing and toiletries for The Cowshed’s Winter Warmth packs.
David Scott, Morrisons Foundation Trustee said: “With the colder months setting in, I’m delighted that we’ve been able to provide this substantial donation to help the most vulnerable members of the community in Berkshire.
“The vital supplies that The Cowshed provides to hundreds of individuals and families in need will make such a massive difference this winter and it’s an honour to support their great work in the community.”
The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015.
It awards grants for charity projects that help improve people’s lives.
In the past 10 years it has donated over £46 million, supporting hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
