THERE is an outside chance it could snow in Wokingham or Reading tomorrow.

Some weather charts are showing a small band of wintry showers across Berkshire – but it could end up being rain instead.

And even if it did snow, it is unlikely that it would settle.

A cold easterly flow is expected, but it is more likely to affect the south east, including Kent and Sussex, than Berkshire.

However, snow is very difficult to forecast.

At the moment The Met Office suggests wintry showers could fall at 2pm and 9pm.

Snow falls can also be localised. A few years ago, it snowed heavily in Wokingham, enough for sledging to take place off Holt Lane, but it was heavy rain in Reading.

The Met Office has issued an ice warning for parts of Kent and Sussex from 4am on Monday, January 8, through to 10am.

It says that icy patches and wintry showers affecting some areas on Monday morning, leading to potentially slower journeys.

Even if it does not snow, the flooded roads and footpaths could turn dangerous if temperatures fall.
