A creative recycling project at The Lexicon has seen pupils from four local primary schools turn materials destined for landfill into new works of art.
Winkfield St Mary’s, The Pines, Holly Spring and Ascot Heath took part in The Remake Project, reimagining four old sculpture bases using materials collected from the public and retailers at The Lexicon.
The finished artworks will be unveiled on Tuesday, June 2, and displayed in the windows of the unit between Mango and River Island, highlighting the importance of recycling and what can be achieved using everyday waste.
Rachel Tomkins, headteacher at Winkfield St Mary’s CE Primary School, said: “The students had a fantastic time getting involved with decorating the sculptures.
“This project supports our school vision of empowering children to become advocates for positive change and to understand how their actions can make a meaningful difference to their community and beyond.
“Thank you to The Lexicon for inviting us to be part of the project.”
