A GROUP that loves literature will meet this month in Wokingham to discuss new ideas in Modernism.
Wokingham Literary Society will be hearing from visiting speaker, Martin Hughes, whose talk, Make It New, will concentrate on the work of American writers Tom Eliot and Ezra Pound.
Both men decided to pursue their careers in Europe, and Martin will discuss how they were both dedicated to finding ways of making new the ideas, sentiments and passions that poetry and art had conveyed to earlier generations.
Martin will ask: What went wrong – or right?
The Wokingham Literary Society meets in the Lecture Room of Wokingham Baptist Church, on a Thursday each month.
Their next event will take place on Thursday, February 20, at 7.30pm.
