Visitors to Wokingham’s Vegan Market on Sunday were asked for their views on what needs to be done to tackle climate change.
Members of the local Extinction Rebellion group asked people to put sticky dots on a board against statements which they agreed with. By far the biggest majority of spots were placed by the statement ‘Governments can and must do more.’
A spokesperson for the group said :”This is what Extinction Rebellion and other environmental groups are finding; that despite many people doing all they can in their own lives, like recycling, using less plastic or eating less meat, most are becoming frustrated at the government’s lack of legislation on stronger measures to combat the crisis.
“Virtually all the people spoken to were highly critical of the government.
Extinction Rebellion members are hoping that people who took away information about the group will join them in calling out the government for not doing enough about what they consider to be the biggest threat to humanity.
