A CONCERT of movie music will raise funds for Parkinson’s Society in July.
Bracknell and Wokingham Concert Band will perform a programme of music that promises something for everyone.
The event, A Night at the Movies and Musicals, brings together a collection of stage and screen favourites, including hits from West Side Story, Les Misérables, Encanto, Wicked, and James Bond, along with the soulful sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire and the beautiful Gabriel’s Oboe.
“Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and entertainment with the BWCB Concert Band,” says the group.
“this is a fun, feel-good concert not to be missed – a night of great music, energy, and community spirit.”
BWCB was founded in 2008 and has over 120 adult members across three wind bands and ensembles.
The bands play music from classical to contemporary, jazz to pop, including TV shows and film scores, each performing in a number of concerts throughout the year.
All the groups rehearse on Wednesday evenings in term-time at Holme Grange School, Wokingham.
BWCB is currently recruiting for all bands.
Their film music concert will take place at Wokingham Methodist Church, Rose Street, on Saturday, July 5.
Doors open at 6.30pm, with the music beginning at 7pm.
Tickets cost £10 (includes £1 donation to Parkinson’s Society, and refreshments)
