We hope you enjoyed our “story” this morning about Clive Jones and Thunderbirds.
We’re sure the date today didn’t escape you.
That said, there was an element of truth in our article.
Wokingham’s member of parliament did take to the stage at the Liberal Democrats spring conference in Harrogate last year, dressed as a Thunderbirds character.
In a section of the event that was introducing six MP’s, Jones appeared in a Thunderbirds costume, recalling his days in the toy industry where the company he managed sold dressing-up costumes for adults and children.
Before his career in politics, Clive was the managing director of a global toy manufacturing and distribution company, whose products included the Teletubbies, Thunderbirds and many other favourites.
He was welcomed onto the stage to the iconic Thunderbirds theme tune.
At the time, he said: “In difficult times for our country … I was pleased to be able to bring some fun to the start of our conference.”
