FOOD lovers and cooking enthusiasts are invited to join the first meeting of a new Winnersh Cookbook Club.
In January the group will gather to eat dishes together that they have cooked at home, with everyone using recipes from Yasmin Khan’s book, Ripe Figs.
The publication is full of recipes and stories from the islands that bridge the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
People will choose what to cook at home and will bring it along on the night.
Dining buffet/family style, the group will share their creations, get to know each other and discuss possible cookbooks for next time.
All cooking abilities and appetites are welcome, and organiser Anya Peach says it’s not necessary to own a copy of the recipe book, Ripe Figs.
Ms Peach intends to run the cookbook club monthly.
“This is for people who love to cook and eat,” she said.
“I used to run a cookbook club in Essex, and people there used to love these evenings.
“it was a great chance to try something new, meet people and do something different. “
The event takes place at Winnersh Community Centre, on Tuesday, January 30.
Doors open at 6.45pm.
Participation costs £5.
To secure a place at the table, people should visit Anya’s PayPal link: account www.paypal.me/anyapeach
They should choose the friends and family option and leave their email as a reference.
Once payment is received, participants will be sent an email with joining details.
