Leandro Bacuna was Reading’s stand-out performer during Tuesday night’s 2-0 Carabao Cup loss to Swansea City.
Up against established names in Renato Sanches, Leroy Fer and Roque Mesa, Bacuna stood up to the task and showed why Royals brought him to the club.
At the back, Liam Moore once again showed his class as he continues to improve week-on-week.
ANSSI JAAKKOLA: Made a vital save at 0-0 to thwart Narsingh and could do little about either goal – 7

CHRIS GUNTER: Showed some good intent going forwards and continues his record of playing every minute so far this season – 6
TIAGO ILORI: Looked composed to begin with but made a couple of sloppy errors as the game wore on – 6
LIAM MOORE: Arguably Reading’s best player this season. Followed up his fine display at Brentford with another solid outing – 7
JORDAN OBITA: Fortunate not to be punished when he twice lost out the battle for pace with Narsingh in the first half – 5
LEANDRO BACUNA: Stood up to the task against Renato Sanches and is beginning to look like a great signing – 7* (star man)
GEORGE EVANS: Was not flustered against some high class midfielders, kept play ticking along and rarely conceded possession – 7
JOHN SWIFT: Showed some neat touches early on on his return to the side but with withdrawn soon after the restart – 6

ADRIAN POPA: Showed some good pace and nice early touches but his final product was lacking – 6
PELLE CLEMENT: Struggled to get into the game. Looked tidy in possession but could not create a key chance – 5
ROY BEERENS: Chosen to lead the line and looked lively, but seemed more dangerous when moved out to the wing – 6
SUBS:
LIAM KELLY: Drew a few fouls but could not provide a killer moment in the final third – 5
TYLER BLACKETT: Added some fresh legs on the left but made no notable contribution – 5
JON DADI BODVARSSON: Showed some good movement but could not make an impact as a late sub – 5
