A planned weekend closure at the junction of Molly Millars Lane and Finchampstead Road, due on 17 and 18 May, was postponed.
Wokingham borough council said this was because it needed further discussions with two utility firms whose cables were due to be rerouted as part of the wider scheme.
The council has confirmed it let residents know when it has confirmed a new date for this, but the main closures are still due to run from late July to March 2026.
Further closures on Easthampstead Road, from north of the level crossing to the Heathlands Road junction, are also expected from winter this year.
A spokesperson said: “We’re still working on the exact timeframes for this, and will let you know as soon as everything’s finalised.”
