As part of National Pub Day, The Telegraph teamed up with Berkshire brewery Renegade to create its own ‘Telegraph Ale,’ a classic English bitter.
The limited-edition brew was served free at 300 pubs across the country earlier this week, including at The Bull in Arborfield..
An average of four pubs per day are closing in the UK this year due to rising taxes and business rates.
To support local pubs nationwide and encourage maximum footfall, The Telegraph launched its National Pub Day initiative.
William Sitwell, The Telegraph’s restaurant critic and columnist, said: “Pubs are the centre of communities and a cornerstone of culture.
“As social hubs, employers and places of fun, we cannot underestimate their importance.”
