THREE of Reading FC’s brightest stars will be visiting a supermarket in Wokingham on Thursday (7) to challenge shoppers to a keepy-uppy competition.
Jake Cooper, Stephen Quinn and captain Paul McShane, fresh from their win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, will be meeting customers at Waitrose in Peach Street and testing their football skills.
The players will be inviting shoppers to do as many keepy-uppies as they can in 60 seconds under the watchful eye and support of the professionals.
The two people with the highest score will win tickets to see the Royals take on Preston Northend in their last home game of the season on Saturday, April 30. Those in third and fourth place will go head-to-head for a chance to win the final pair.
Waitrose Wokingham branch manager Duncan Robertson said: “We are proud to support our local club and I know our customers will relish the chance to get advice and show off their skills with the experts before shooting around our store.”
Adam Benson, Commercial Director at Reading FC, added: “We’re very proud of our eight year relationship with Waitrose and it’s great for the players to come and meet members of the community while they are out and about doing their shopping.”
The players will visit the store between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday, April 7.
