STAFF from a local bank have put their best foot forward to help raise more than £1,000 to help babies.
The team from TSB took part in the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday, March 17, to show their support for the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s Babies In Buscot Support charity.
In all, £1,300 was raised – a stepping stone on the TSB’s aim of raising £23,000 for the charity.
The funds will help purchase a new Cerebral Function Monitoring (CFM) machine for the Buscot Ward at The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. This helps monitor brain function in babies and is a vital tool in diagnosis and clinical decision making for treatment.
Jason Wilkins, branch manager at TSB in Reading, said: “Babies in Buscot Support is a vital part of our local community and we’re really proud to have them as our Local Charity Partner.
“Our team has worked hard putting in a lot of time and dedication to train for the marathon and raise as much money as possible to help Bibs reach their overall goal of £23,000.
“Katie Ball, Tom Swaby, Liam Heneghan, Edita Persina and myself managed to complete the marathon and it is fantastic to know the difference that our effort will make.”
TSB’s sole focus is to serve local people and businesses which, in turn, helps fuel local economies across Britain.
Instead of having a centrally chosen Charity of the Year, TSB staff can choose a local cause.
