A VILLAGE bowling club is celebrating after receiving a helping hand with its clubhouse refurbishment.
Retirement property developer, Renaissance Retirement, which has apartments, based locally in Crowthorne, Wokingham and Sandhurst, has entered into a three-year partnership with Crowthorne Bowling Club to enable the works to be carried out.
Brian Cattle, secretary of the Crowthorne Bowling Club, said: “It’s fantastic that a local company like Renaissance has come forward and decided to support Crowthorne Bowls Club.
“We can’t thank them enough and look forward to working with them throughout the partnership.”
And Phillip Kellaway, regional sales manager at Renaissance Retirement, added: “Crowthorne Bowling Club is a fantastic asset to the local community and we are really pleased that we can help with this refurbishment project.
“Becoming part of and supporting the local community has always been important to Renaissance Retirement and I am confident that the relationship will go from strength to strength.”
The company is currently constructing 32 one and two-bedroom apartments on Dukes Ride in Crowthorne.
And it is launching 42 apartments in Yorktown Road, Sandhurst.
The development has a vote of confidence from the club: It’s former chairman, John Tobin, has was one of the first to move in.
He said: “It’s the right time for me to downsize and I’ve chosen a lovely, well-appointed apartment in a great location in Sandhurst.”
