The Emmbrook School is celebrating another year of strong GCSE results, with Year 11 students achieving an average grade of 5 across all subjects.
The Wokingham school said the results build on improvements seen last year and continue an upward trend in performance over the past three years.
It said students had performed particularly strongly in English, maths and science, with the school expecting the subjects to be significantly above the national average when national data becomes available.
Strong results were also recorded in French, music, drama, computer science and religious studies.
Headteacher Nick McSweeney praised the year group, describing the students as “kind, hardworking and ambitious”.
“I am truly delighted that this exceptional cohort of young people has achieved such strong results,” he said.
“These results continue the significant improvement we have seen at The Emmbrook School since our decision to join The Circle Trust.”
Mr McSweeney said the school had seen rising student numbers, improved outcomes and a growing school community during that time.
He added that, following the school’s A-level results last week, the GCSE results meant it expected a record number of students to continue into its Sixth Form in September.
Head of Year 11 Mr Tichband said he was “incredibly proud” of the students, praising not only their academic achievements but also their contribution to school life.
“Over the past five years, I have seen them support one another through challenges, show resilience when things have been difficult, and contribute positively to our school community,” he said.
“They have demonstrated kindness, humour, compassion and determination in equal measure.”
He said GCSE results “open doors and create opportunities” but did not define a person.
The year group leaves the school with “excellent qualifications” as well as having developed into “thoughtful, respectful and caring young adults”, he added.
The school said it was looking forward to seeing what the students achieve in the next stage of their education
