A WOKINGHAM grant giving charity that exists to relieve poverty and enhance quality of life, is already thinking about how it can spread a little joy in December.
“We’re already getting into the Christmas spirit,” said the team at Wokingam United Charities.
“Christmas has a habit of coming round quickly, so we’re looking ahead and getting ready to launch our Christmas Cheer! Grant Fund 2026.”
The grant is available for borough charities and community groups wanting to add a little sparkle to their festive activities.
“We aim to help groups create special moments for the people they support, whether a Christmas meal, a gift, or just a chance to celebrate together,” said a spokesperson.
Last year the charity helped 10 Wokingham Borough organisations to provide Christmas lunches, gifts, games, hampers, vouchers, Christmas parties, and a tea dance to brighten the lives of the people they support.
Wokingham United Charities will soon be reopening the grant for groups planning to hold festive events this year.
Applications for Christmas Cheer funding can be made from Tuesday, September 1.
