A Wokingham resident has launched an outdoor escape room based around Wokingham town centre.
James Sheahan said his new venture, called Order of the Oak, involves players following visual clues to find their way and solve interactive puzzles on their phones using their surroundings.
It covers around 1.5 miles throughout the town and takes about two hours.
He said: “It’s like an escape room, but outdoors.
“This is my first outdoor game and I’m creating more games in Wokingham too.
The game designer has worked in video and board games for almost 30 years.
“I built and ran a temporary Christmas-themed escape room as part of First Days’ charity Christmas Presence event last year, and I am a volunteer at Wokingham Food Bank.
“My game gives a great reason for people to come into the centre of Wokingham and walk around seeing all the great buildings, side routes and lesser-known places along the way. “Despite having lived in Wokingham for over 10 years, I have a new admiration for the town hall after taking over 300 photos of it for reference when I was creating puzzles.
“My website (https://foxcovert.games) has lots of information about the game,
“ You can play any day and any time – there’s no need to book a specific day or time.
“We just launched Fox Covert, and to celebrate, we’re giving 25% off until August 31 via a code on the website.
