A GROUP of borough performers that provides fun family entertainment at Christmas has launched the sale of tickets for this year’s show.
Wokingham Pantomime is gearing up for its production of Snow White, and has revealed the first of its cast members.
Snow White will be played by Bella, 18, who in her third year with the company is propelled to the role of leading lady.
Having played a magic bean in last year’s panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, she said: “I’m looking forward to the costuming, getting to sing, and sharing the stage with some of my closest friends,” she said.
“Everyone in the cast and crew are so lovely, and make everyone feel so welcome.”
Wokingham Pantomime is led by husband and wife team, Stan and Jo Hetherington, who produce the shows and create all the costumes.
Jo said: “It’s lovely to be able to bring together adults and children to work together on these productions.
“This year we have 11 youngsters in a mixed ensemble, with Bella, one of last year’s young performers, taking on the role of Snow White.
“We really felt that she’d grown so much as a performer last year, and she sparkled at the auditions.
“We love being able to offer all our performers an opportunity to work on such a lovely stage, and we so enjoy watching the youngsters get something really special out of being part of these shows.
“We’re also delighted that for the past three years, we have been able to donate tickets to be sold in support of children’s charities – this is a community pantomime, so it’s great to be able to contribute.”
Snow White will be performed at Wokingham’s Whitty Theatre, on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 29 and 30.
The shows start at 6pm on both nights, with an additional Wednesday matinee at 2pm.
Tickets, now available, cost £23 for adults and £18 for under 18s (plus booking fee).
