A HOMELESS man who broke into a home in Woodley to steal jewellery has been jailed for more than two years.
Christopher Morales pleaded guilty guilty to one count of residential burglary at a hearing held at Reading Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 24.
The court heard that on Saturday, December 9, the 33-year-old felon raided the home of a man in his sixties after entering via a first-floor bathroom window.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
Morales was arrested on Tuesday, January 23, and charged the same day.
He was sentenced to two years and two months at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Friday, April 12.
Thames Valley Police staff Investigator Elle Read said: “I am satisfied that Morales has been sentenced to a custodial sentence.
“Burglary is a horrendous crime that has devastating and long-lasting effects on victims and Thames Valley Police are absolutely committed to ensuring offenders are brought to justice.”
