Saturday’s planned event to mark Armed Forces Day in Peach Place in Wokingham has been cancelled due to the heat.
Wokingham town council said: “Unfortunately, due to the forecast of extreme heat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band’s planned Armed Forces Day performance in Peach Place this Saturday.
“We know many residents of all ages were looking forward to seeing the band play as part of this special day, and we’re very sorry for the disappointment.
“However, the wellbeing of the musicians, volunteers and everyone attending must come first in these exceptional temperatures.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
