It’s February and love (and rugby!) is in the air at both the George & Dragon country pub in Swallowfield and our brewery Tap Yard in Finchampstead. Let’s get straight into what’s coming up!
The George & Dragon is delighted to announce the start of our brand new head chef, Lee Wright. Lee comes from an incredible cheffing background which includes being a contestant on Masterchef and hosting his own TV cooking show! He’s wasted no time in making the kitchen his own with myriad positive changes, due to his “No one should be left out” ethos to food.
As of today, the G&D Kitchen is now entirely nut free, a big step forward in allergy control. The menu is now almost entirely Gluten free, as Chef Lee wants to make sure that all dishes aren’t just delicious and freshly prepared, but accessible to as many people as possible, with vegetarian and vegan options also available. The new menu is now launched, and tasting incredible. Get down there soon to try some of the homemade puddings, homemade pasta (not GF at this stage) or up and coming special Valentine’s Day menu.
Whilst there, you can check out the new big screen TV in the back room, which we’re screening ALL of the Rugby Six Nations’ games, and any other sport on terrestrial TV. Since launch, it’s been a popular addition, which includes some rugby themed menu specials.
Talking of Rugby, we’ll also be screening all of the games at the Tap Yard, where you can now fill up a 5 litre beer tap to take to your table, meaning you’ll miss none of the big action!
On March 16th, we’re turning 11th years old and are hosting another brewery party! Last year saw our biggest ever crowd and we can’t wait to go again – this time with two sessions available, or one all day ticket.
With not only beers galore, but plenty of entertainment and incredible street food, it’s set to be one incredible day, so don’t miss out.
