Wokingham Decides: where to vote across the borough in EU referendum

A number of polling stations have been set up across Wokingham borough ready for the people to have their say in the European referendum.

Whether you vote LEAVE or REMAIN, you need to head to your local polling station between 7am and 10pm on Thursday, June 23.

Although voting cards have been sent out to every person on the register, you don’t need to bring the card with you. As long as you’re registered on the electoral roll and go into the polling station and give your name and address, you will be able to vote.

There are some important things to remember: it’s an offence to vote more than once (unless you are acting as a proxy). If you are a proxy voter, you cannot vote for more than two people unless you are their spouse, civil partner, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, child or grandchild. You can’t proxy vote for someone who you know is not allowed to vote – and if you haven’t registered as a proxy voter it’s too late to do so.

Emergency proxy votes can be set up before 5pm tomorrow – useful if you have a medical emergency. Your application to vote by emergency proxy will need to be supported and signed by the appropriate medical practitioner or health professional.

For more details, email electoralservices@wokingham.gov.uk or call 0118 974 6522.
