A MAN involved in a collision in a busy Reading road this morning has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries.
Now, Thames Valley Police Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The incident took place around 9.15am on the bus lane part of Kings Road. The section is used by Lion and Orange routes run by Reading Buses as well as the Purple 17s and a number of Park and Ride and Courtney Bus routes.
The man is in his twenties, and police said that his family are being supported by Roads Policing Officers.
The driver of the vehicle, a VW Transporter being used by a taxi firm, was not injured.
Police closed all of Kings Road for more than two hours today, and the bus lane going towards Reading town centre remains closed while police conduct an investigation.
The Wokingham Paper witnessed the force collecting evidence into bags and saw the taxi on the road.
Investigating officer Sergeant Gary Doughty of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened this morning as we continue to establish the circumstances.
“We would especially like people to check their own CCTV and dash-cam footage from the area of Kings Road from around 9am this morning.
“If you find anything which could help, please share this with us.
“There may be some disruption in the area while we carry out the investigation, the road westbound towards Reading between Cemetery Junction and Eldon Road is currently closed and is likely to remain closed until later this afternoon. The road eastbound away from Reading is open.
