After more than 1,000 votes in previous rounds, The Two Poplars and The White Horse have been revealed as the top two contenders entering the final round of Clive Jones MP’s Best Pub in Wokingham campaign.
Both pubs have made it through the first and second rounds of voting, with the final round opening for residents to have their say on Thursday, May 28.
The campaign, launched by Clive Jones MP earlier this year, aims to celebrate local pubs and recognise the important role they play in bringing communities together across Wokingham.
Clive Jones, the Liberal Democrat MP for Wokingham, said: “Residents from across the area have shown fantastic enthusiasm for this campaign, with more than 1,000 votes already cast for their favourite local pubs.
“Wokingham is lucky to have such a brilliant range of local pubs, each offering something unique to residents and visitors alike.
“I started this campaign to celebrate the important role pubs play in our community, and I’m delighted to see that pubs across Wokingham have been getting the recognition that they deserve.
“Both The Two Poplars and The White Horse should be incredibly proud to have made it to the final round, and I encourage residents to get involved and vote.”
Voting will close at 9am on Friday 19 June.
