What is Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park?
The event is similar to the annual International Street Concert organised by Wokingham Town Council.
A number of acts will perform throughout the day, and there are street food stalls and activities for children.
Where does the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park take place?
It will be held in Elms Field, where a specially erected stage has been put up. The venue is in Wokingham town, and close to several car parks.
Don’t park in the Aldi car park though – that is camera controlled and limited to Aldi customers for 90 minutes only. Anyone who does not register their car in store will be fined.
When is the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park happening?
It takes place in Elms Field from 2pm to 9pm, with the first band performing at 2.30pm.
Children’s activities will stop at 7pm.
Can I bring a picnic with me to the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park?
Wokingham Town Council invites people to bring a blanket, camping chairs, and a drink or two. Picnics will be allowed, but people are encouraged to buy from the vendors, many of whom are independents.
What will be happening for children at the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park?
More Arts will have a tent offering a range of craft activities for youngsters to enjoy.
This starts at 2.30pm.
And there will be a chance for children to try circus skills thanks to Circus Scene.

2.30pm: Peggy Sue & The Jukebox: a mixture of 50s rock n roll tunes
3.30pm: Midnight Soul Sisters: A celebration of 60s Motown funk
4.30pm: Trenchtown Experience: A tribute to Bob Marley and the Wailers
5.45pm: Supersonic Queen: Celebrating the music of Freddie Mercury and his talented bandmates to mark the 1980s
6.45pm: Spice!: A tribute to The Spice Girls and girl power … the band that conquered the 1990s
8pm: Fully Funktional: Playing hits from across the 21st century, bring us up to date.
All bands will play for 45 minutes, and timings are subject to change.
What will the weather be like at the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park?
The Met Office is forecasting a fine day, with sunshine and cloud until the evening.
There is a 10% chance of rain, all the way through to 11pm tonight – so anyone attending should be OK to leave the sou’westers at home.
The temperature will reach 19°C by 3pm, and cool to 16°C by 8pm.
How much does it cost to go to the Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park?
Entry is free. The only charge is for the food and drink you buy from the street food vendors. More Arts will invite donations for its children’s activities.
