Hundreds of residents have voted in MP Clive Jones’ ‘Wokingham’s Best Pub’ campaign – and here are the five pubs that the public have voted to go into the next round.
Taking the top five spots in the first round of voting are The Two Poplars, The Ship Inn, The White Horse, The Roebuck and The Broad Street Tavern.
The Wokingham MP’s campaign is celebrating the very best of Wokingham’s pub network, and recognises the importance of these spaces for the local community.
Clive Jones, the Liberal Democrat MP for Wokingham, said: “Wokingham has an incredible network of local pubs that aren’t just a place to get a pint, but are warm and welcoming places that bring our vibrant community together.
“It’s clear that residents feel the same way. Hundreds of people living across the area celebrated their favourite local and the invaluable place they have in Wokingham.
“Make sure that once voting re-opens, your best loved pub gets your vote and receives the recognition it deserves.”
Voting reopens on Friday, May 1, and the two pubs with the greatest number of votes will go on to compete in the final stages of voting.
