A FORMER teacher turned West End star returned to her alma mater earlier this month to share tips and tricks with the stars of tomorrow.
Vicki Manser, who has appeared in shows such as Six, Rock of Ages, and Little Shop of Horrors, gave a masterclass to Steppin Out Stars of Tomrorow, where she is a patron.
She taught pupils some routines from the shows and a sneak preview of a new song she is working on, giving 10 hours of teaching over two days at classes in Emmbrook and Woodley.
“It is amazing to be back where I was given my first ever teaching job 13 years ago,” she said. “I’m a bit of a boomerang I always find my way back to Steppin Out.”
Amber Alderman, a Steppin Outs student, said: “It was amazing to hear her new song, and I had such fun.”
Steppin out’s principal, Shelley Otway, was thrilled to welcome back her former colleague.
“What a fantastic weekend we had,” she said. “Vicki bought such joy and energy to the school and even hung around to give the children her autograph.
“It is incredibly humbling to have her so keen to come back and pass on her industry knowledge to the next generation of possible stars.”
Ms Manser has just signed a record deal and is touring the country with her new band.
