FIREFIGHTERS invited members of the public to find out more about its work at a special open day last month held at Wokingham Fire Station.
The Easthampstead Road station was the venue for the event, held on Saturday, July 22.
Guests included Wokingham Town Mayor Cllr Peter Lucey who enjoyed trying on a firefighter’s helmet before checking out the equipment.
A display of vintage and model fire engines was joined by a charity cake stall, a sweet stall and a raffle.
Although it was a wet day, crowds came out to watch demonstrations and enjoy the day.
The event raised £897 for the Fire Fighters Charity.
