VISITORS to a borough art event can find answers to the following questions: What do artists do all day? What really goes on in a studio? And how do finished pieces of art emerge to see the light of day?
Eight artists will open their doors this month to give people an exclusive peek into their creative processes and a chance to find out more.
The group, from Wokingham and East Berkshire, have together launched Acorn Open Studios to share their creative process with the public.
Artist Linda Saul, said: “There are opportunities for people to visit artists at work West of Berkshire, but not so many to the East.
“We wanted to put this right, so eight of us in this part of the borough are opening our individual studios all together over the same weekend – as well as at other times during the month.”
The group encourages residents to enjoy an art trail, and to aim to visit all eight artists over the bank holiday weekend.
“If people drop in to at least five different studios they can enter a prize draw to receive a goody bag of work put together by the artists,” continued Ms Saul.
“They just need to collect stamps at every studio they visit, and then give the fifth artist their contact details to be entered for the draw.
“Every artist works in a different way, so visitors should find it interesting to get an insight into all the various creative methods.”
Works are normally for sale but there is no obligation to buy, as the event is being held as a celebration of creativity and community spirit.
The studios can be found in Charvil, Earley, Hurst, Lower Earley, Shinfield, Spencers Wood, and Wokingham.

All studios are open from Saturday, May 25 through to Monday, May 27, from 10am until 5pm, and at other dates in May.
