The 40th anniversary of a Finchampstead dance school was recognised in the Houses of Parliament last month.
Wokingham |MP Clive Jones submitted the Early Day Motion (EDM), a formal written proposal that will remain in the published records of the house.
He wrote: “This House celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Knight School of Dance based in Finchampstead in Wokingham, which was recently celebrated with performances of Ruby Reflections; congratulates particularly Alison Knight and the dedication she has shown in running the school all that time; recognises the positive impact such initiatives have in their communities.
“It further recognises the benefits the Knight School of Dance brings to people of all ages including the over-65 Silver Swans class; supports fun and engaging means of keeping active at all ages; notes that such organisations provide not only skills in dance but also belonging, creativity, body positivity, expression and many other benefits, and wishes Alison, the Knight School of Dance and all its members many more positive years to come.”
