Man charged with Shinfield murder and will appear in court this morning

Forensic police are investigating a suspected murder in Parker Close, Shinfield, Wokingham on Boxing Day 2018. The body of a woman in her 40s was discovered on the doorstep at 5.40am on Wednesday, December 26, 2018

A SHINFIELD man is due to appear in court today charged with the murder of a woman who has yet to be formally identified.

Officers had been called to Parker Close in the new Shinfield Meadows development at 5.40am on Boxing Day – Wednesday, December 26 – and discovered the body of a woman in her 40s.

Thames Valley Police said that a post mortem on the victim established that the cause of death was stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Laurens Brand, 47, of Parker Close, Shinfield, has been charged with one count of murder.
He is due at Reading Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday, December 28).
