READING FC suffered their first home loss since Decmeber as they conceded three times in a goal filled first-half against Shrewsbury Town.
Despite the loss, Reading stay in 16th position in the table and are five points above the relegation zone.
DAVID BUTTON 4: Struggling for form having conceded seven in three matches, despite keeping a midweek clean sheet against Port Vale. In fairness, the first and third goals from Shrewsbury he couldn’t have done much to prevent.
ANDY YIADOM 5: Picked up a yellow in the first-half for breaking up a counter which left him walking a tightrope. Taken off late on when Reading were searching for a goal.
AMADOU MBENGUE 6: Couldn’t have done a whole lot to prevent any of the goals and was probably the best out of the back four.
TYLER BINDON 5: Turned far too easily in the box for the second goal as he was followed by Bayliss before he slotted in for Shrews’ second.
CLINTON MOLA 5: Had been much improved in the last two months, but wasn’t his game today. Some clumsy defending. Had a good effort in the second-half on the half volley that flew just wide.
CHARLIE SAVAGE 6: A decent enough display. Put in some nice free-kick deliveries which weren’t converted. Taken off on 65 for Ben Elliott.
LEWIS WING 7: All of Reading’s good play came through him. Played some excellent progressive passes to find Smith’s runs in behind.
HARVEY KNIBBS 6: Relentless pressing as always and played the through ball for Sam Smith’s goal. Kept persisting but couldn’t held find a second-half leveller.
FEMI AZEEZ 5: Frustrating lack of end product. Tested the keeper in the second-half with a powerful shot, but didn’t have his best day.
KELVIN EHIBHATIOMHAN 6: A big slice of luck with the leveller as his shot hit a defender and looped up over the keeper before finding the net.
SAM SMITH 6: Took his first chance nicely by slotting the ball past the onrushing Shrews keeper to get his side back in the game.
