I read my horoscope today,
And then I went to read yours,
In the same old way that
I used to do before …
Before your life shifted to
To the shadows of the past,
And your flag was gently
Lowered to flutter at half mast.
And I realised, for the first
Time since your untimely death,
That I’d turned a corner and
Could now see the road ahead.
It was never a journey that
I’d have chosen to make alone,
And I still don’t feel ready but
Some things can’t be postponed …
For time is the greatest treasure,
Though … not one we can hold,
And the only way forward is
To unlock the box marked “Bold”.
