Summer has officially arrived, and across the borough, communities are gearing up for a packed weekend of live music, family fun, and historic celebrations.
Whether you want to browse classic country stalls, support local musicians, or clock in some miles on two wheels, there is plenty happening right on our doorstep this weekend.
Here are five brilliant ways to spend your weekend in and around Wokingham.
1. Soak Up the Atmosphere at the Hurst Show and Country Fayre
When: Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 10am – 4pm
Where: Hurst Village
What: Celebrating more than 45 years of community spirit, this hugely popular, non-commercial country show is back. Expect a brilliant lineup of traditional countryside entertainment, craft stalls, arena events, and local food. It’s the ultimate family day out that perfectly captures the heart of Berkshire’s village life — all while raising vital funds for local charities.
2. Catch the ‘Sounds of Summer’ at Cantley Park
When: Saturday, June 27, from 7pm
Where: Cantley Park, Wokingham
What: Looking for some evening entertainment? The Trinity Concert Band is hosting its outdoor “Sounds of Summer” concert. Pack a picnic blanket, grab a few camp chairs, and enjoy an evening of live music under the open sky.

There is no advanced sign-up required for the family ride; just turn up at the main Bikeathon field with your bikes at 10am for a fun, marshalled group ride designed to build confidence in younger cyclists.
