The Wokingham location where drivers are most likely to get a parking enforcement notice in Wokingham has been revealed.
A freedom of information request (FOI) to Wokingham borough council has identified Market Place as the location where most tickets were issued during the 2025/26 financial year.
A total of 967 tickets were issued for reasons that included being parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours, parked or loading/unloading in a restricted street were waiting and loading unloading restrictions are in force, parked in a permit space or zone without clearly displaying a valid permit, parked in a parking place or area not designated for that class of vehicle, not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space, parked in a loading place or bay during restricted hours without loading, or being parked in a designated disabled person’s parking place without displaying a valid disabled person’s badge in the prescribed manner.
From Market Place parking enforcement alone, Wokingham borough council collected £42,935 during the last financial year. Whilst throughout the borough, 29,731 notices were issued that generated £838,321.21 during the same period.
