Work is taking place on new footpaths at a park in Woodley.
Ashenbury Park is public recreation land set across nearly 50 acres with a lake, a play area and paths for joggers and dog walkers.
The park can be accessed from Denmark Avenue.
Photos show Wokingham Borough Council contractors working on the paths in the grounds.
The park has been in the news recently as the council has begun a consultation on introducing a £2.50 all-day charge to use the car park there.
The council is currently undertaking a £201,190 upgrade of Ashenbury Park, which involves upgrades to the footpaths and ecological enhancements.
The upgrade programme was approved by the council in March 2023, with management of the park being transferred from the council’s grounds maintenance contractor to its specialist Countryside Service.
A council webpage states: “Income generated from the car park would support Ashenbury’s ongoing development, management and maintenance.
“It would help provide a more reliable source of funding for looking after the park and making future improvements possible.”
The webpage also states work on the paths will be completed this week.
